Field Service Engineer – Technician in Italy

Typical tasks of the position include, but are not limited to:

 

   Provide customers and distributors field service engineers support, install,

calibrate, diagnosis and repair, and use of all currently supported instrument
models and accessories.  Gain a working knowledge of applications for these
products

   Provide detailed operational training to customers and distributors service

engineers after installation, instructing them on hardware and software operation
   Provide basic service trainings for our distributors field service engineers.
   Establish and maintain prompt professional communications, both written and
verbal, with customers, distributors field service engineers and internal resources    Provide information to customers and distributors field service engineers
regarding service products and offerings; effectively sell service products and
contracts

Oversees the activities of our distributor’s field service engineers responsible for
the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of all our instruments.
Manages the available resources to ensure proper territory coverage and ensure
that reasonable response times are met.

   Responsible development and evaluation of distributors field service engineering
personnel in order to ensure the efficient operation.

   Reviews territory activities and makes recommendations for territory realignment
and personnel assignment.

The  successful  candidate  will  have  a  combination  of  knowledge,  skills  and experience that would include the following:

    Knowledge normally acquired through completion of a 2 to 3 year associates degree

in electronics and 2-4 years in the service, repair and installation of instruments,

or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Prior field service is

highly desirable

   Fluently in English, both written and spoken.

   Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills

   Demonstrated aptitude in the use of a variety of desktop computer hardware,
operating systems (Windows), and applications software such as Microsoft
Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.  Working knowledge of networking also
highly desirable.

   Knowledge/training with thermal analysis and rheology instruments is a plus
point.

   Ability to organize and prioritize work activities and to handle multiple projects
simultaneously

   Ability to make practical decisions without appreciable direction or advance
preparation

   Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with customers and co-workers and
supervise field service engineers.

   Ability to travel by car or plane up to 60% in the region as described above
