3 year ERC-funded Postdoctoral position in Montpellier

 

Location:

The ‘Institut de Génétique Moléculaire de Montpellier (IGMM)’ (18 teams, 220 persons, 27 nationalities) is an international institute (English is the working language) with a rich and vivid scientific environment.

The IGMM provides state of the art core facilities, with a collaborative and lively atmosphere in a gorgeous city/region.

 

Position:

Mounia Lagha, head of the ‘Transcription and Development’ team (laghalab), is seeking a post-doc with a strong interest in quantitative developmental biology to lead a project on gene regulation during Drosophila development.

The candidate will decipher the impact of enhancer/promoter sequences on transcriptional dynamics (e.g transcriptional bursting and mitotic memory) during early embryogenesis. This project requires a variety of approaches ranging from live imaging of transcription, quantitative image analysis to biochemical assays.

 

Skills:

Prior experience in imaging, Drosophila genetics, molecular biology and/or image analysis are extremely valuable, but not mandatory. The ideal candidate should feel comfortable working in an interdisciplinary and international environment.

The successful candidate will take a strong lead in the experimental design, and collaborate with other team members. The candidate is expected to communicate the scientific results by writing up scientific reports and attending scientific meetings.

 

 

 

2 year ERC-funded Engineer position in Montpellier

 

Location:

Position:

Mounia Lagha, head of the ‘Transcription and Development’ team (laghalab), is seeking a highly motivated Engineer.

The candidate will be primarily responsible for generating various constructs to create transgenic fly lines.

Functional characterization of these lines (genetics, imaging) will be possible, depending on the candidate
motivations.
