GILSON – Inside Sales Representative

Promotes and sells instruments, consumables, and service to a selected group of customers on a day
to day basis, and prospects that will be determined by management. The role will be based at our head
office in France and will be covering France, Switzerland (French speaking part) and Spain. Utilizes a
combination of selling techniques, including phone scripts to achieve goals. Is organized and maintains
established planning, administrative, and reporting systems through various IT systems There will be
opportunities to visit select customers and attend trade/shows exhibitions in order to promote Gilson
and generate further sales.
• Support and help account managers in the field to cover customers in geographical area far from
where their core business sits
• Develop new sales opportunities and the growth and development of existing and new service
business within the territory through inbound lead follow up and outbound cold calls and emails
• Achieves or exceeds assigned sales targets. This will be done by calling upon prospects, existing
customers or open sales territories, as assigned by management
• Generates and enters leads in Gilson’s CRM program by researching and maintaining current
knowledge of existing and potential accounts and their key personnel. Follows up on all leads
provided by the company
• Understanding customer needs and requirements and uses sales techniques including value selling
to uncover needs to provide the appropriate solution
• Develops quotations and pricing agreements by following Sales and Service Program pricing
guidelines. The intent is to maximize sales revenue and profitability at the same time
• Coordinates with Customer support to respond in a timely fashion to all customer requests
• Actively supports product campaigns when launch of new products through outbound calls to
customers / prospects
• Researches and maintains and expand database of potential customers in assigned territories and
current knowledge and familiarity with competing products, pricing and competitors’ marketing
• Responds in a timely fashion to all customer inquiries
• Transfers contacts to field sales personnel as directed by management
• To build and strengthen relationships with significant customers within key accounts.
• Answering customer product queries received by telephone, email.
• Responsible for attaining and maintaining technical knowledge to support customers by
conducting effective online demos for potential clients
• Utilizes all aspects of the Gilson CRM software system and fulfills all prescribed requirements
• Decision making regarding self-scheduling
• Other duties as assigned

• B.S. Degree (life sciences preferred) equivalent to French BTS, DUT in science + Bachelor in
• Experience working in a life science lab preferred
• Previous phone experience selling products with assigned sales targets preferred
• Manual and Automatic Liquid Handling (MLH/HPLC/SPE) experience is a strong asset
• Training in life sciences preferred but not required
• French speaker with ability to be mandatory fluent in Spanish (English nice to have)
• Computer proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office ( is an asset)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and listening skills
• Confident, persuasive and winning phone presence
• Strong interpersonal & networking skills are required
• Data entry experience
• Ability to work independently is a must
